A stay plan built around afternoon tea in your own room, with the sea in view, has arrived on Awaji Island — about 48 minutes by express bus from Kobe Sannomiya. Grand Nikko Awaji in Awaji, Hyogo Prefecture, is taking bookings from Thursday, October 22, 2026 to Sunday, March 28, 2027 for “In-Room Afternoon Tea Stay.”
Afternoon tea in your room, at the time you like
The star of the plan is afternoon tea served not in a restaurant but in your guest room. From a bright, open room, guests look out over the sparkling Seto Inland Sea while enjoying colorful sweets and savories (small salty bites) that make use of Awaji Island’s food bounty. Tea is served from 14:00 to 17:00, and is brought to the room at the time you choose.
The hotel says early check-in is available from 14:00, one hour earlier than usual. Being able to settle straight into tea time with the view outside is welcome after a journey.
Photograph the sweets and savories, chat around the table, or read with a cup in hand — the private space leaves room for whatever you like. It also suits a treat-yourself stay on a day when you would rather stay in than go out.
Breakfast by room service, with Awaji ingredients
The next morning’s breakfast is room service, with a choice of Western or Japanese. The menu uses local ingredients, including Awaji free-range eggs, vegetables and milk, to be enjoyed at leisure in your room. From arrival to checkout, the stay can be spent entirely in the room.
Includes a ticket to Awaji Green Hall
The plan comes with an admission ticket to Awaji Green Hall, the Hyogo Prefectural Awaji Yumebutai Park greenhouse. The hotel sits in Awaji Yumebutai, an environmental creation complex designed and master-planned by architect Tadao Ando, so the stay can be paired with time among Awaji’s plants and nature.
