If you start your Fridays with FM802, this one might make you look twice — and it is only in Kansai. FM802, the Osaka FM radio station, has teamed up with FamilyMart for the first time on its popular show “BRIGHT MORNING”. The show’s DJ, Ayako Uchida, is a huge shrimp lover, so the theme is simply “shrimp”. Four items — an onigiri (rice ball), a bento box, a sandwich and a pasta — go on sale at about 2,600 FamilyMart stores across the Kansai region from Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
A Friday-morning radio favorite meets a “locally loved” convenience store
“BRIGHT MORNING” airs live on FM802 every Friday from 6:00 to 12:00. Along with music, Uchida shares ideas to brighten Friday mornings and tips for the weekend. FM802, which went on air in 1989, has long been popular across Kansai, especially with younger listeners.
FamilyMart marked its 45th anniversary in September 2026 and has set itself the goal of being “the most locally loved” convenience store. This project is part of that effort. Besides the DJ’s favorite food, the theme was chosen because Kansai is a region that eats a lot of shrimp.
According to Uchida, the items reflect listener requests such as “something I can eat with one hand” and “a bento that works for lunch”. She also drew the shrimp illustrations for the collaboration herself.
Shrimp all the way, from onigiri to penne

The “Big Onigiri with Rich Shrimp Flavor – Shrimp Mayonnaise” wraps shrimp mayo in rice cooked with a sauce made from shrimp shells. Lemon juice is added to the shrimp mayo for a bright accent.

The “Double Fried Shrimp & Gratin Bento” is a Western-style bento with no fewer than two fried shrimp topped with tartar sauce. It also includes a shrimp-flavored macaroni gratin and a croquette, for a properly filling meal.

The “Fried Shrimp and Egg Sandwich” stacks a fried-shrimp layer and an egg layer. The fried shrimp side comes with aurora sauce (a mayo-ketchup sauce).
The fourth item, “Shrimp Mayo and Tomato Cream Penne, Eaten Cold”, puts shrimp tossed in a sweetish mayo sauce and penne in a tomato cream sauce that makes the most of the shrimp flavor in one container. It is meant to be eaten as is, without heating.
Uchida suggests enjoying them for breakfast, lunch or with a drink in the evening during autumn, the season of good eating. Picking one up on a Friday morning while listening to the radio sounds like a good plan.
The four are also easy to choose between: the onigiri and sandwich can be eaten with one hand on the way to work or between stops, while the hearty bento suits a day when you want a proper lunch. The stores cover all six prefectures of Kansai, from Shiga to Wakayama, so you can find them near your office, your home or your hotel.
