On Sunday in Kusatsu, you can try double dutch, parkour and slacklining. “Cross Sports Park”, an urban-sports experience event, is coming to Shiga Prefecture for the first time. It takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at A-Square in Kusatsu, and both admission and the activities are free.
Turning “wow” into “I want to try”: a day to watch and to do
Cross Sports Park is a hands-on event that introduces people to many urban sports, including parkour, breaking, BMX and skateboarding. At one venue you can enjoy the “watching” side, with powerful stages by professional performers up close, and the “doing” side, learning from top-level instructors as you try the moves yourself.
According to the organizer, MoveX Inc., the event has been held across Japan and has drawn more than 150,000 participants in total (as of August 2026). It also received the Special Jury Chair Award at the 20th Kids Design Award, for creating chances for children to meet a variety of sports and to find new challenges and experiences of success.
Three sports to try, and performances in two sessions

You can try three sports: double dutch, parkour and slackline. Even first-time children can join in with the support of instructors.

At Ayaka Plaza, the main venue, Ave and SANA perform double dutch and SPEMON performs parkour, twice during the day. The flow of the event is simple: watching the performers sparks an “I want to try that!” feeling, which you can take straight into the hands-on experience.
Timetable and how to join
On the day, go to the reception desk in the courtyard in front of Ayaka Plaza to pick up a free pass that lets you join all the activities. Reception is open 11:15–15:30, and the last entry for activities is 15:30. Depending on how crowded it is, some sports may switch to a rotation system (reservation required).
- 11:15–15:30 Reception

- 13:30–14:00 Performance (first half)
