FRED PERRY opens pop-up outlet stores in Kobe-Sanda and Shiga Ryuo — the Shiga Ryuo store opens Oct 23

The laurel wreath on the chest of a polo shirt — you know the brand. British label FRED PERRY has opened limited-time outlet stores in Kobe-Sanda in Hyogo and Shiga Ryuo in Shiga. The Kobe-Sanda store opened on Friday, October 16, 2026, and the Shiga Ryuo store opens today, Friday, October 23.

Three limited-time outlets, starting from Tosu

The brand has chosen three locations: Tosu in Saga, Kobe-Sanda in Hyogo and Shiga Ryuo in Shiga. “FRED PERRY OUTLET Tosu” opened first on Saturday, October 3, followed by “FRED PERRY OUTLET Kobe-Sanda” on Friday, October 16 and “FRED PERRY OUTLET Shiga Ryuo” on Friday, October 23. All three are limited-time stores open 10:00–20:00. In Kansai, the two to visit are Kobe-Sanda and Shiga Ryuo.

The idea is to treat the outlet mall, where many people shop, as a new point of contact with those who don’t yet know FRED PERRY. The brand says it wants the stores to offer not only products but also a glimpse of its background and worldview.

White space, laurel wreaths and tennis history

All three stores are built around white. The laurel wreath that symbolizes the brand, the FRED PERRY SHIRT, and the history of tennis — the brand’s origin — are placed prominently in a simple space, so that first-time visitors can feel the brand’s identity.

At the back of each store is archive imagery of founder Frederick John Perry, a tennis player who won Wimbledon three times. It shows the origin behind the laurel wreath that the brand still carries today — a chance to learn how the brand began while you shop.

A wall of colorful FRED PERRY SHIRTs

On the wall inside, a shirt wall displays the brand’s signature FRED PERRY SHIRT in a wide range of colors. It is the same display used in the brand’s directly operated stores as a symbol of the brand, and it has been brought into the outlets too. Searching a broad lineup for your favorite shirt is half the fun; faced with a wall of them, even the time spent choosing sounds enjoyable.

A laurel wreath neon sign at the entrance

In the window is a neon sign in the shape of the laurel wreath. It catches the eye of people passing through the mall, marks the entrance, and introduces the brand to those who are new to it.

About FRED PERRY

The brand was founded in 1952 by Frederick John Perry, a three-time Wimbledon champion, and has grown alongside British subculture ever since. The original FRED PERRY shirt is still made in the same design it had more than 60 years ago. Known as a subculture uniform that crosses sportswear and streetwear, the brand has also collaborated with world-class designers such as COMME des GARÇONS.
