The story of the NHK historical drama (taiga drama) “Toyotomi Brothers!” has finally arrived in Yamatokoriyama, Nara. To match, the “Toyotomi Brothers! Yamato-Koriyama Taiga Drama Museum” in Yamatokoriyama, Nara Prefecture, changed its exhibits on Friday, October 9, 2026. It is the museum’s second renewal since opening in March, timed to episodes 37 and 38, when the drama’s setting moves to Yamatokoriyama. The museum runs until Friday, January 22, 2027, the anniversary of Hidenaga’s death.
Photos with Koriyama Castle, and new films you can only see here
Toyotomi Hidenaga, the hero of “Toyotomi Brothers!”, made Koriyama Castle his residence. The Koriyama history zone now has a photo spot where you can pose alongside the Koriyama Castle that appears in the drama. Seen together with the existing Koriyama Castle exhibits, it makes the link between Hidenaga and the castle easy to grasp.
The “4K Theater” has started showing two new special films. One is a newly shot interview in which lead actor Taiga Nakano talks about his feelings toward the “Yamato-Koriyama chapter.” The other is a making-of film following how the show’s art team brought Koriyama Castle back to life. Both can only be seen at this museum. Visit after watching the broadcast and you can see how the castle on screen was made. In the prologue zone just inside the entrance, a newly shot welcome message from Taiga Nakano and Riho Yoshioka, who plays Chika, is also playing (updated on May 26).

The couple’s costumes together, and props that hold keys to the story
The costume display has changed too. Hidenaga’s costume is now the one he wears in the late-series key visual announced on Wednesday, September 16, and in the opening title sequence that was renewed from episode 37. Added to it is the pure silk uchikake (formal outer robe) of Chika, Hidenaga’s wife, so the couple’s costumes stand side by side.

There are many more props as well. From episode 37 come the “plan of Koriyama Castle,” the “land survey rope” and the “letter from his brother Hideyoshi”; from episode 38, the “paper on which Hidenaga practiced writing the character wa (harmony)” and “Sue’s drawstring pouch with a yak-hair charm,” among others. New large panels introduce characters of the “Yamato-Koriyama chapter,” such as Hidenaga’s retainers, and the large graphic at the entrance has been replaced with the late-series key visual. The character relationship chart has been updated to match the latest plot, and new tracks from the soundtrack have been added to the background music.
Anniversary discounts and weekday postcards
There are discounts on dates linked to Hidenaga. On Monday, October 19, the day Hideyoshi is said to have visited the ailing Hidenaga in Yamatokoriyama, residents of Osaka Prefecture pay ¥500 for adults and ¥250 for children, and anyone named “Hideyoshi” or “Hidenaga” gets in free. On Wednesday, January 6, 2027, residents of Wakayama and Mie prefectures pay the same prices, and anyone named “Takatora” gets in free. Eligibility is checked with a My Number Card or driver’s license.
Because the old castle town has many narrow streets, the museum asks visitors to use public transportation or park-and-bus-ride, and to avoid weekends and holidays. As part of this, on weekdays until Monday, November 30 (excluding closed days), the first 200 visitors from 12:00 who enter at the individual rate receive a special Hidenaga postcard.
