Two days to compare 77 local sakes from across Kansai, right in the middle of Minami (the Namba area). The sake event “OSAKA SAKE SQUARE 2026” will be held at Namba Carnival Mall in Minami, Osaka on Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026. It is organized by the Osaka Sake Brewers Association and the radio stations FM COCOLO, FM802 and ZIP-FM, and the six food spots around the venue have just been announced.
Now in Minami, with 26 breweries and 77 sakes
The event started in 2023 to boost the sake industry in Kansai, and this year it has moved to Minami. The venue, Namba Carnival Mall, lies between Namba Parks and the south building of Namba CITY.
Twenty-six breweries from the six prefectures of Kansai are taking part, with 77 sakes in all: 10 breweries from Osaka, 5 from Kyoto, 4 each from Hyogo and Shiga, 2 from Nara and 1 from Wakayama. Three Hyogo breweries — Ozeki, Sennenichi Shuzo and Nihonsakari — and Wakayama’s Nate Shuzoten, known for its “Kuroushi” sake, are joining for the first time. Ozeki will be there on Sunday the 18th only, and Hamafukutsuru Ginjo Kobo on Saturday the 17th only.
To take part, first buy a “Starter Set”: 10 coins for food and drink, an original ochoko (sake cup) and a wristband. You exchange the coins for sake or soft drinks.
Advance sets are ¥600 cheaper than on the day. There is also a “Chokotto Starter Set” with just the ochoko and wristband, available only through the Sake Fes Guide app, so you can join even if you do not plan to drink much.
Tempura, shirasu and a sake-lees parfait: six nearby food spots

Food is sold by partner restaurants around the venue at their own shops. Payment is cash only at each shop, and the event coins cannot be used.
Abeno Takoyaki Yamachan will offer, in addition to its usual menu, an original flavor available only on these two days, in limited quantities. Tempura Daikichi, a casual tempura restaurant that started out at a fish market in Sakai, will have a three-piece tempura platter and its famous clam soup, among other dishes. It sells in front of the shop from 15:00 to 18:00; at other times you can get takeout inside the shop.
Ganso Shirasu-don Kinchakuya will serve conger eel tempura, a Senshu specialty, boiled shirasu (whitebait) caught in Osaka Bay, and dashimaki (rolled omelet) with mentaiko (spicy cod roe). Osaka-mon Ryori Sora, founded in 1957, will sell “Koten”, a fish-cake tempura certified as an “Osaka-mon” (Osaka-made) specialty, along with burdock fish cakes, oden, Senshu onion fritters and more.
There are Western dishes too. Santa Angelo offers Florentine-style trippa — beef honeycomb tripe stewed in tomato — and Yuki Saryo offers a parfait that pairs a chocolate made with sake lees and cacao with soy milk soft-serve.
No sake is sold to anyone under 20, and you may be asked to show ID. Visitors are asked to come by public transportation. Each sake is available in limited quantities, so head to the breweries you most want to try early.
