A big store that covers almost everything for the home is arriving in Umeda. On Friday, October 30, 2026, Nitori, the Japanese furniture and home-goods chain, opens its flagship “Nitori Umeda Chayamachi” in Chayamachi, Osaka. It is a short walk from Hankyu Osaka-umeda Station and has about 2,700 tsubo (roughly 8,900 sq m) of sales space. Furniture and interior goods share the building with apparel, home appliances and a renovation showroom.

Nitori says it will be the largest Nitori store in the world by total sales floor area, including its corporate business area (as of October 2026, according to the company). In busy Umeda, it looks like a place where you can finish your home shopping in one stop.

The 1st floor: a home-life floor that goes beyond furniture

The 1st floor is where Nitori shows its “new challenge.” Beyond furniture and interiors, it lines up products that change with the season and trends, aiming for a floor you want to drop into on a whim.

The roughly 100-tsubo apparel area stands out. It brings together clothing from three Nitori Group brands in one place: “N+,” Shimachu’s “N easy,” and Nitori loungewear. You can compare each brand’s character, including the coordinated colors and patterns of “N+.” It extends Nitori’s long-held idea of total coordination from rooms to clothes.

Another highlight is a pair of new series going on sale ahead of the rest of Japan. The “life+audio” audio series has 12 items in all, including wireless headphones and earphones, speakers and soundbars, and Nitori says it can be enjoyed for music and movies without complicated setup or specialist knowledge. The “life+one” gadget series covers digital small items such as power banks, chargers and cables, with colors and designs chosen to blend into a room. Being able to look for a charger right after work is a convenience of a store this close to the station.

5th–7th floors: 16 room styles to picture your life in

The 5th and 6th floors have 8 total-coordination rooms, built around new furniture series and combined with interior goods and appliances. With the bedroom proposals on the 7th floor, there are 16 room styles in all. Four styles are on offer, Simple, Scandinavian, Natural and Vintage, and you can feel the differences in texture and warmth in each.

If you are moving or rearranging a room, seeing the real thing should make it easier to settle on an image.

8th floor: a corporate showroom and renovation consultations

The 8th floor holds a hands-on showroom for businesses that Nitori calls the largest in Japan (by sales floor area among Nitori corporate showrooms, as of October 2026, according to the company). It recreates offices, hotels, commercial facilities, medical and welfare facilities and company dormitories, so you can see, touch and move the furniture to check layouts and ease of use. Plan proposals are offered in one stop.

A renovation showroom is on the same floor. You can consult on everything from replacing kitchen and toilet fixtures to rethinking a whole space.
