November gives bread lovers a reason to stop by Umeda. From Sunday, November 1 to Monday, November 30, 2026, the basement food floors of Daimaru Umeda in Osaka host “Panpara (Pan Paradise)”, an event all about bread. It follows the success of the cafe-and-bakery zone that opened in April this year, and offers a different kind of “bread tour” in each section: new breads, breads from sweets counters, and bakeries popping up for a limited time.
B1 East: new breads from the zone that opened in April
First is the cafe-and-bakery zone on the east side of the first basement floor, where the aroma of freshly baked bread fills the air. Each shop brings out a new creation.
D.Baguette by Parigo & Daiya offers the “Tenpaku Shio Butter Pan” (¥280, tax included), pairing the sweetness of its Tenpaku shokupan (white sandwich loaf) with the richness of Isigny fermented butter. Garam to Masala has a Japanese-style curry bread with large, crunchy lotus root in a beef-tendon curry (¥390, tax included; sold Nov 1–Dec 2), and Taiwanese doughnuts in kinako (roasted soybean flour), condensed milk and cinnamon sugar (¥280 each, tax included).
Also on the list: Tekona Bagel’s “Caramel Nut” (¥420, tax included), Croissant Safari’s “Chocolat Orange” (¥399, tax included), Backhaus Irie’s “Custard Basque” (¥410, tax included; refrigerated, through Nov 30), and Le Pain Kobe Kitano’s white chocolate and orange bread scented with Earl Grey (¥291, tax included; exclusive to Panpara). Maisen joins in with a “Demi Menchi-katsu Sandwich” (¥540, tax included), made with demi-glace from Hakodate Goshoken, a 140-year-old Western-style restaurant.

B1 West: sweets-counter favorites try their hand at bread
On the west side of the first basement floor, brands known for sweets are selling bread. Rikuro Ojisan no Mise (Uncle Rikuro’s) offers its “Okage Shokupan” (1.5-loaf size, ¥620, tax included), sliced to order in its in-store kitchen and described as good both plain and toasted. Juchheim sells a “Kobe Beef Meat Pie” (¥500, tax included) filled with Kobe beef, onion and chopped boiled egg, for three days only: Friday, November 6 to Sunday, November 8.

&Earl Grey has croissants kneaded with Earl Grey tea leaves (¥378, tax included), plus croissant sandwiches filled with rum-raisin or orange Earl Grey butter cream (¥540 each, tax included). They are on sale Nov 1–30. Because the counters sit close together in a department store basement, you can pick up bread on the same trip as your sweets — that is our take.
Bakeries from other towns, for a limited time
From Wednesday, November 4 to Tuesday, November 10, the event space on the east side of the first basement floor hosts bakeries from around the region.
- Pan Kobo Finbec (Suma-ku, Kobe): Round Maple loaf (1 loaf, ¥671, tax included)
- coquelicotrouge (Ise, Mie): bicolor croissant (1 piece, ¥650, tax included) and about 80 of its roughly 240 kinds of bread
- Ferdinand (Ikeda, Osaka): rare-sugar pain de mie (1 loaf, ¥453, tax included)
- AMBER GRASS (a viennoiserie specialist from a patisserie in Kamishinjo, Osaka): assorted viennoiserie (from ¥324, tax included)
The lineup runs from familiar Kansai shops to a bakery from Mie. It is a chance to try bread from towns you might not usually get to, right in Umeda.
Five shops picked by Kobe bread writer Miho Inada
The event space “Okashi na Parade” on the west side of B1 (Nov 4–10) hosts “Okashi to Pan no miho à la mode” (“Sweets and Bread by miho à la mode”) for the first time. Sweets and bread writer Miho Inada, who lives in Kobe, has chosen five shops, each appearing on different days.

- Boulangerie Show (Osaka) and Pan Kobo Log (Kobe): throughout the period
- REMERCOEUR (Nishinomiya): Nov 4–6
- MAISON FLEURIR (Wakayama): Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8
- ametista (Kobe): Monday, November 9 and Tuesday, November 10
Because each shop’s dates differ, check the schedule first if you have a favorite.
A popularity vote with an app coupon prize
During the event, follow Daimaru Umeda’s basement food account “@daimaruumeda_food”, like the campaign post, and comment the number of the product that caught your eye to cast a vote. Ten voters will be drawn to win ¥1,000 in app coupons usable on B1.
