You can run on the famous Koshien field with your own two feet. Hanshin Koshien Stadium in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, will hold “Koshien Enjoy Run 2026”, a running event on the stadium’s field, on Sunday, December 13, 2026. This year a new “10 km Run” category with timing joins the lineup, so there is something for serious runners too.

It is the field that every baseball fan dreams of standing on. You can take part in a team jersey or running gear, and bring family or friends along.

Three categories — and a new 10 km debut

There are three categories. The new “10 km Run” is for individuals: 25 laps of the field (10.0 km), with individual timing for those who want to chase a personal record. It is open to junior high school students and older, costs ¥6,000 per person (tax included), and is limited to 200 people. Every participant receives an event-exclusive neck gaiter and an original Hanshin Koshien Stadium pocket thermal bottle.

In the “Family Run”, a family of two to four people that includes children of elementary school age or younger runs four laps (1.6 km) together. It costs ¥3,000 per person (tax included), with 200 places per slot. Children alone, or junior high school students and older only, cannot enter.

The “Casual Run” is for individuals, five laps of the field (2.0 km), open to junior high school students and older at ¥4,400 per person (tax included). There are three slots, with capacity of 120 (Slot 1), 100 (Slot 2) and 120 (Slot 3). It suits anyone who wants to soak up the stadium atmosphere without worrying about time.

Limited “special experience” plans

The Casual Run offers “special experience plans” in limited numbers, which the organizer says were popular last year.

One is the “Locker Plan”: use the locker room behind the bench, normally off-limits, as your changing room before and after the run. It costs ¥7,150 per person (tax included, Casual Run Slot 1 or 3 entry fee included), with 80 places per slot. Note that you cannot return to the lockers during the run itself.

The other is the “Banquet Plan”: after running Casual Run Slot 2, enjoy a lunch buffet in the stadium’s Premium Lounge. It includes an all-you-can-drink option (alcohol included) and costs ¥11,000 per person (tax included), limited to 100 people.

Perks: commemorative photos, a towel and a record certificate

Every category comes with perks. There is time for commemorative photos at field level, and if the field is in good condition you can step onto the infield dirt. You also receive an original event face towel and an original certificate showing your running time.

Another perk is a ticket for “Koshien Plus”, the commercial facility next to the stadium (2nd floor). Choose either entry to the Koshien Historical Museum, or one event at “BE-STADIUM KOSHIEN”, a virtual batting center where you bat or pitch against a CG recreation of the stadium. It is valid from the day of the event through Sunday, February 28, 2027.

After the run, the museum makes an easy way to spend half a day at Koshien.

Good to know before you enter

The event falls in the stadium’s off-season, so some areas are under construction. The areas you can enter will be decided on the day depending on weather and field conditions, and there is no refund or fee reduction if the area is reduced. You must wear athletic shoes on the field — no spikes, leather shoes or heels — and accessories that could fall off, such as piercings, are not allowed. The event goes ahead in rain but may be canceled in severe weather.
