A morning of tea and French toast in a historic Kobe building is on the way. Salon15 TOOTH TOOTH (Salon Jugo Tooth Tooth), located in the former Kobe Foreign Settlement No. 15 building in Kobe’s old foreign settlement (Kyu-Kyoryuchi), will start a breakfast menu from 8:00 on weekends and national holidays, beginning Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The salon pitches it for a breakfast on a trip or a slow holiday morning. It could also be a calm way to start a day of sightseeing in Kobe.
French toast, with scrambled Banshu eggs (A) or Earl Grey cream (B)
The star is freshly browned French toast, served on one of two plates with different accompaniments.

- A PLATE (¥2,800, tax included): French toast, scrambled Banshu red eggs with prosciutto, seasonal fruit salad
- B PLATE (¥2,800, tax included): French toast, Earl Grey-scented chantilly cream, seasonal marinated fruit
Eggs and ham with the A plate, or Earl Grey cream with the B plate — choosing is part of the fun. Drinks are one tea from the TOOTH TOOTH tea list, iced tea or coffee. Switching to a café au lait costs ¥110 extra.
Breakfast is served from 8:00. Last order is 9:30 for food and 10:00 for drinks, so plan an early visit.
“Morning High Tea” on three tiers
The other highlight is the Morning High Tea, a high tea set made for breakfast, with French toast, croissants, sweets and seasonal fruit. It is available from one person, by reservation only, at least two days in advance, for ¥3,980 (tax included).
The three tiers each have their own character.
- Top: oeuf à la coque, croissant with fermented butter, Earl Grey cream
- Middle: osmanthus-scented fruit jelly, macaron, canelé, madeleine
- Bottom: saucisson with herbs and mortadella ham, seasonal fruit with fromage blanc, green salad
With both sweet and savory items, it suits anyone who wants more than sweets. The osmanthus-scented jelly adds an autumn touch. One tea from the TOOTH TOOTH tea list is included.
Breakfast in Kobe’s oldest foreign merchant house, a National Important Cultural Property
The venue, the former Kobe Foreign Settlement No. 15 building, is the oldest surviving foreign residence in Kobe and a National Important Cultural Property. Its colonial-style exterior has a veranda on the south side of the second floor, and details from the pillars to the decorations are said to convey the atmosphere of an early Meiji-era foreign trading house.

The shop includes a boutique where you can choose PATISSERIE TOOTH TOOTH sweets and a tea counter for sampling tea. The salon serves cake and tea pairings, seasonal afternoon tea, and Kobe cuisine such as pasta and main dishes. Breakfast is a new time of day for it.
