Kintetsu Department Store opens Christmas cake orders on Oct 16 — about 65 cakes at Abeno Harukas and other Kansai stores

Christmas cake orders that can be picked up at Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store, Nara and Wakayama are about to open. Kintetsu Department Store starts taking orders for its “Kintetsu Christmas Cakes 2026” on Friday, October 16, 2026. This year’s theme is “DEAR ME, HAPPY CHRISTMAS,” and about 65 cakes are lined up with a treat-yourself spirit.

Three ways to choose this year’s cake

The lineup is built around three themes.

1. Premium cakes made with prized ingredients — Saitama’s original “Amarin” strawberry, Hakata Amaou strawberries and rich pistachio are used generously. Patisserie Torukuhen’s “Premium Amarin: A Jewel Box of Strawberries” (¥10,800, about 15 cm, limited to 30) uses Amarin strawberries with a sugar content above 20 degrees, grown by Kumehara (久米原), a producer who won the top gold award at the National Strawberry Championship. Hotel New Otani Osaka’s “Super Amaou Shortcake” is ¥15,660 (about 18 cm, limited to 50). The Kintetsu-exclusive “Premium Pistachio, Extra Rich: A Jewel Box of Nuts” is ¥6,600 (about 14 cm, limited to 100, contains a small amount of alcohol).

2. Cakes too pretty to resist — four cakes designed to bring a smile when the box opens: MAY6TH’s “Christmas Surprise Box” (¥7,344) and “White Christmas” (¥5,940), the Kintetsu-exclusive “Noël Bear Chocolat” by Antenor (¥4,968) and “Strawberry Santa Dome” by C Cube (¥3,991).

3. 12 cm cakes: keep it all to yourself, or share — whole cakes about 12 cm across, just right for one or two people. The Kintetsu-exclusive “Christmas Edition” by Fruit Couture Takano is ¥5,400 (limited to 180, contains a small amount of alcohol). Also available: Pierre Marcolini’s “Envol Noël 2026” (¥6,966), Mont St. Clair’s “Charlotte Tiramisu” (¥5,801) and The St. Regis Osaka’s “Christmas Shortcake” (¥5,800).

With the smaller sizes, you could pick one for yourself as well as for the family.

Fair visuals by embroidery artist Atsuko Harada

At the “2026 Kintetsu Christmas Fair,” starting Wednesday, November 11, the key visual features work by punch-needle embroidery artist Atsuko Harada of “glimmer globe,” known for a charming, warm world of plush toys and small objects. The visual will also appear on shopping bags and other items; the distribution dates will be announced in a release due in early November.

A special collaboration item also appears: the Kintetsu- and online-shop-exclusive “Yoroshikereba, dozo.” (“Please, help yourself.”) plain castella (sponge cake) by de Carnero Kasute (¥1,890, shipping not included, limited to 216). It is based on the cat and PIYO from the artist’s work, each offering something precious, with the theme of giving and sharing at Christmas. Online-shop orders run from 10:00 on Friday, October 16 to 8:30 on Tuesday, December 8, with delivery on Sunday, December 20 only.
