Kobe Marathon EXPO to debut “MARINE JOURNEY,” the first apparel line from Sannomiya running shop RUN JOURNEY

Before the Kobe Marathon, you can meet running clothes made in Kobe that work as everyday wear. RUN JOURNEY, a running specialty shop in Sannomiya, has created its first original apparel collection, “MARINE JOURNEY,” and will sell it first at Kobe Marathon EXPO 2026 on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14, 2026.

Not clothes only for runners, but clothes that make you want to run

RUN JOURNEY is run by Yano Undo Yohin, founded in Kobe in 1936. Working daily with runners, the shop noticed how high the psychological hurdle can be before people start running: finding the time, changing clothes, heading to a place to run. That preparation can make the first step feel heavy.

So the shop thought of clothes that let you move naturally as an extension of daily life, rather than rearranging your life around exercise. The aim is wear anyone can enjoy in their own way, with or without running experience. Every item is unisex and can be worn not only for running but also for walking, cycling and travel.

Designed from Kobe’s sea and city

The inspiration is Kobe, where the brand was born. With the sea and mountains close together, and port scenery coexisting with city life, the collection imagines days like running along the shore and stopping at a café afterward.

The palette is based on navy and ivory, in simple designs that are easy to wear in town. Functions expected of running wear, such as quick-drying, sweat-wicking, lightweight and mesh fabrics, were also taken into account. Part of the design incorporates the coordinates of the RUN JOURNEY shop, expressing the idea that “a new journey begins from this place.”

Lineup: five items (part of the collection)

These are the items introduced so far. All prices include tax, and every item comes in NAVY and IVORY.

Why debut at Kobe Marathon EXPO?

The Kobe Marathon is special to the shop. Many staff members ran their first full marathon in Kobe, and the shop once set up an aid station in front of its store to cheer on runners. It has also sold good-luck charms for finishing and lemonade to celebrate a finish, and it has had a booth at the EXPO since last year. As a shop that has grown alongside local runners, it chose this event to unveil its first apparel. You can pick items up and try them on at the venue.

Developer KIKI of RUN JOURNEY says the aim is to move exercise “from a special time to an everyday option,” and to give people who have never run a reason to get moving and enjoy the city.
