For eleven days, freshly baked bread from all over Japan gathers in Tennoji and Abeno, Osaka. The “Bread Festival: Boulangerie Expo” runs from Friday, November 13 to Monday, November 23, 2026 at the 9th-floor event hall of the Wing Building, Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store. Now in its fourth year, it brings together 25 top bakers with credentials such as entries in the Mondial du Pain bread world championship, eight of them appearing for the first time.
Chef’s Booth: bakers make bread from flour, on a rotating schedule
The highlight is the “Chef’s Booth,” a live demonstration sale in which bakers prepare dough from flour right in the venue, then handle fermentation and baking. You can watch the process up close, and because each baker has set days, you meet a different shop each day.

Many bakers come from the Kansai region. On Monday, November 16 and Tuesday, November 17, Boulangerie Parigo of Osaka sells its Haruyokoi Tenpaku shokupan (¥519 each) and Brioche Feuilletée (¥756 each). From Friday, November 20 to Monday, November 23, Pan Kobo Kawa of Wakayama offers its whole Kishu umeboshi burger (¥648 each) and more. Shops from Hyogo, Shiga and Osaka appear on different days, and others come from as far as Hokkaido, Fukuoka, Miyazaki and Hong Kong.

Collaboration breads you can only get at Kintetsu Main Store
The other draw is the “Kintetsu Main Store exclusive collaboration breads,” in which popular bakers team up with pastry chefs or restaurant chefs.
Pastry collaborations include 安倍竜三 (Boulangerie Parigo) with 辻井良樹 (Poire) on November 16–17; Boulangerie Bienvenue’s 大下尚志 with Patisserie Le Cherche Cherche’s 村田義武 on November 19–20; and Boulangerie Couronne’s 田島浩太 with Patisserie Goat’s 片岡茉美 on November 21–23. Among the restaurant collaborations, Pain Pati’s 大泉裕一 teams up with chef Bernard Antiquil for a casse-croûte (¥1,296 each) on November 13–15.

There is also a collaboration between popular influencer Usamogu and Boulangerie Mirge’s 榎友寿. Usamogu, who has eaten more than 2,000 anko-butter (red bean paste and butter) sweets, is scheduled to visit on Saturday, November 14, 12:00–14:00.
Doughnuts, scones and sweets too
Beyond bread, around 30 shops fill the Standard Booth, and doughnuts, scones, bagels and sweets round out the lineup. Some doughnuts are made live, mainly by shops from Hyogo. From Friday, November 13 to Sunday, November 15, Berry Button’s Salty Chocolate Financier (¥370 each), exclusive to Kintetsu Main Store, is also on sale.
Each shop appears on different days, and a chef visit schedule is published, so check the dates before you go if you have a favorite.
