Another taste of Kitakyushu is arriving in the Senshu area. Sukesan Udon, the udon chain that began in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, will open its “Sukesan Udon Izumi Kannonji” branch in Izumi, Osaka, at 8:00 on Wednesday, November 25, 2026. It is the chain’s 124th location.
Along Prefectural Route 30, inside Acros Plaza Izumi Kannonji
The branch is inside the large shopping complex Acros Plaza Izumi Kannonji, on Osaka Prefectural Route 30 (the Osaka–Izumi–Sennan road), a main artery of the Senshu area. The complex has a food supermarket, a drugstore and a 100-yen shop, so it is easy to stop by while shopping. Parking is shared with the complex, which makes it convenient by car. It is also within easy reach of Izumi city, the southern and western wards of Sakai, and Takaishi, Izumiotsu and Kishiwada.
By public transport, it is about a 20-minute walk from Izumi-Fuchu Station on the JR Hanwa Line, or right by the Terakado 1-chome stop on the Nankai Bus. It looks like an everyday spot: a weekend shopping trip, a meal on the way home from a drive, or a lunch break from work.
The signature “niku-gobo-ten udon” and more than 150 dishes
What Sukesan Udon cares about is its broth, made in each shop every day. It pairs a sweet yet rich broth with noodles that are soft on the surface and slightly chewy inside.
The No. 1 favorite is the “niku-gobo-ten udon,” tasted with the broth. The menu also includes Kitakyushu’s “kashiwa udon” (chicken udon), shrimp tempura udon, motsu-nabe (offal hot pot) udon, fried udon and seasonal udon. Beyond udon, there are soba, rice bowls, curry, oden and chicken rice balls — more than 150 items in all — plus the shop’s famous botamochi (sweet rice cakes), which sell 8.3 million pieces a year.
Free toppings and no late-night surcharge
Sukesan Udon offers tororo kombu (shaved kelp), pickled tsubo-zuke radish, extra broth and tenkasu (tempura bits) free of charge, so you can adjust each bowl to your taste.
Long opening hours are another feature: most branches stay open until late, and many are open 24 hours. Izumi Kannonji is open 7:00–24:00, every day of the year, with no late-night surcharge at any hour. It has table, counter and booth seating, so it suits families, friends and solo diners alike.

Sukesan was founded in 1976 and runs more than 100 branches, centered on Kitakyushu and including all seven Kyushu prefectures and beyond. It also runs a local recycling loop: food waste from its shops is composted, and eggs from hens fed on feed grown with that compost return to the menu.
