Spend this Christmas in Honmachi, Osaka, with a day that feels like a gift. The St. Regis Hotel Osaka (3-6-12 Honmachi, Chuo-ku, Osaka) is holding its festive program “Gift of Celebration”: restaurant menus, a bar, afternoon tea and in-hotel events, all built around the theme of celebration.
Christmas menus at four venues
From Friday, December 18 to Friday, December 25, the Italian restaurant La Veduta (12th floor) serves a menu by Chef 吉田 道昭 that layers winter ingredients over Italian tradition. Lunch is a 5-course menu at ¥12,000 and dinner a 5-course menu at ¥30,000. The dinner main is roasted sirloin of Miwa beef from “Ushisho Tawaramoto” in Nara Prefecture, finished with freshly shaved black truffle.

Brasserie RÉGINE (1st floor) is supervised by Ryuta Iizuka of the two-Michelin-star restaurant Ryuzu in Roppongi, Tokyo. Christmas lunch is ¥7,500 (¥8,000 with one drink) and dinner ¥20,000; dinner features dishes with caviar and Périgueux sauce. At the teppanyaki restaurant Wajo (12th floor), Chef 北野 嵩人 leads the menu. Lunch is ¥20,000 (“Wa-an”) or ¥30,000 (“So-an”); dinner ranges from ¥30,000 (“So-an”) to ¥75,000 (“Kobe Beef”). On Thursday, December 24 and Friday, December 25 the restaurants run two seatings, and the menu lineup differs.
La Veduta and Wajo do not admit children under 12 during the Christmas period. Reservations at all three carry cancellation fees that depend on how far ahead you cancel, so check the terms before booking.
24 days of Bloody Marys and a Nutcracker afternoon tea
At The St. Regis Bar (12th floor), “24 Days of Bloody Mary” runs from Tuesday, December 1 to Thursday, December 24, from 17:30. Modeled on an advent calendar, it offers a different original Mary each day, inspired by St. Regis hotels around the world, at ¥2,600 each. Three Christmas cocktails (¥3,000 each) are served from December 1 to Friday, December 25.

By day, the star is the Christmas afternoon tea inspired by the ballet story The Nutcracker, served from Monday, November 16 to Friday, December 25. It costs ¥7,800 (¥9,800 with a glass of champagne). Five sweets draw on scenes from the story, such as chestnut and blackcurrant, pear and caramel, and rose and pistachio. The savories include a smoked-duck and celeriac roulade and a Japanese black beef and root vegetable pie.

Decorations, concerts and a gift for overnight guests
From Saturday, November 14 to December 25, Christmas decorations fill the 12th-floor lobby and other areas of the hotel. On December 5, a kids’ cooking class (15:00–17:00) lets children make gingerbread houses and bûches de Noël with the hotel’s chefs. Christmas concerts by students and alumni of the Music Department of Soai High School take place on December 18, 19, 24 and 25. Guests staying on the nights of December 24 and 25 receive a special Christmas amenity in their room at turndown.
