Sail from Akashi to Awaji Island for the sea-stage ballet “Libris’s Book” — 2,400 yen with the round-trip fare included

Take a fast ferry from Akashi to a ballet performed out over the sea. PASONA HARBOR STAGE, a sea-based art stage that opened this summer on Awaji Island in Hyogo Prefecture, is selling the “Awaji Jenova Line Round-Trip Ticket Viewing Plan”, which deducts the ferry’s round-trip fare from the performance ticket. It is available on just three days: Saturday, October 31, Sunday, November 1 and Tuesday, November 3 (a national holiday), 2026.

The fare is taken off, so the show is 2,400 yen

The plan takes the Akashi Port–Iwaya Port round-trip fare (1,400 yen) off the performance ticket. For the ballet, the regular 3,800 yen becomes 2,400 yen, which in effect makes the ferry free. A drink is included, and all prices include tax.

To get the discount, show your return ferry ticket (Iwaya to Akashi) at the venue reception. The plan is meant for people who travel both ways by ferry, so keep your ticket handy.

Akashi to Iwaya Port, then a free shuttle bus to the venue

The suggested schedule: leave Akashi Port at 17:40 on the high-speed ferry and arrive at Iwaya Port at 17:53. A free shuttle bus leaves Iwaya Port at 18:00 and reaches Assembre Hall at 18:03. PASONA HARBOR STAGE is about a one-minute walk from there.

On the way back, the free shuttle bus leaves Assembre Hall at 19:43, the ferry leaves Iwaya Port at 20:00 and arrives at Akashi Port at 20:13. The performance starts at 18:30 and lasts about 40 minutes. Leave from the Kobe or Akashi side in the late afternoon and you are back that evening — handy after work or on a weekend.

“Libris’s Book”, staged between sea and sky

PASONA HARBOR STAGE is a permanent art stage on the sea off the east coast of northern Awaji Island. The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, the view toward Kobe, and even the changing light of the stars and the moon become part of the staging, the venue says.

The current original ballet is “Libris’s Book” (Libris no Hon), a story of how the courage to keep chasing a dream leads to the future. It is created, directed, choreographed and led by Taro Kurachi, a former principal dancer with the Belarus State Bolshoi Ballet. Luna is danced by Maria Volokobina or Sofia Sheiko, and Libris by Kurachi or Taras Kovshun, in double casting. The cast may change.
