Kobe has a new souvenir that is becoming a permanent fixture at Itami and Kobe airports. SORANOA, a cream sand pie from Kobe Roman, the maker of the popular “Kobe Sakusaku Pie”, goes on sale at the regular shops in both airports from Monday, November 2, 2026.
SORANOA debuted in July 2026 with a limited-time run at three airports: Itami, Kobe and Kansai International. Now it moves from the temporary sales space to regular shops at Itami and Kobe, so you can pick one up whenever you are passing through on a business trip, a trip home or a vacation.
Five flavors, with flavor kneaded into the pastry too
SORANOA is a light, crisp pie pastry sandwiching soft, melt-in-the-mouth cream. What sets it apart is that the flavor is kneaded into the pastry as well as the cream. The pastry is matched to each cream so that the aroma of the ingredient spreads with every bite. The number of folds and the baking were also worked out to balance a light texture with the cream.
There are five flavors: custard, chocolate, strawberry, peach and matcha. Each pastry has its own color, so lined up together they look lively. Note that the products and flavors on offer differ from shop to shop, so check at the counter if you have a favorite in mind.

The box shows a girl in a skirt of clouds, dancing in the sky. It expresses the world of SORANOA, born from the light texture of the pie and the gentle melt of the cream. The color of her dress changes with each flavor, so choosing among the boxes is part of the fun — and it suits the excitement of travel.
During the July limited run, many customers said they loved the cute packaging and the crisp texture of the pie. Kobe Roman says it hopes SORANOA will be enjoyed as a travel souvenir or a gift for someone special.
