A new home for music in Kobe is inheriting the memory of Shinsaibashi. “ONZIEME-1” (pronounced “Onzieme One”), a DJ bar named after “ONZIEME-11,” the club once loved in Osaka’s Shinsaibashi as a crossroads of music and culture, opens in Sannomiya, Chuo-ku, Kobe on Friday, November 13, 2026. It is the name’s return after about ten years.
Concept: “Savor the Kobe night.”
The bar’s concept is “Savor the Kobe night.” Keeping the dance-music focus of the Shinsaibashi days, it aims for music that isn’t tied to one genre and a space where people connect naturally. It describes itself as a grown-up social venue where the thrill of dancing and the ease of chatting over a drink exist side by side.
The operators say they are not recreating the old club as it was. They are carrying over its passion for music and its human connections, and shaping them for today. The aim is a place where music, fashion, art, food and design cross paths — open both to people who knew the Shinsaibashi club and to those hearing the name for the first time.
Sound and floor designed with care
The programming rests on three ideas: “HERITAGE,” “HARBOR” and “SAVOR.” Inherit the musical commitment built in Shinsaibashi, take in the diversity and polish of the port city of Kobe, and balance the excitement of music with the comfort of conversation. The bar is also mindful of how the mood shifts through the night — from chatting, to music and people blending, to a hot dance floor, to a lingering afterglow.
The sound system is custom-designed. It is meant to deliver power but also a pleasant spread of sound that stays comfortable over long stays, and the speakers themselves are presented as part of the interior. There are roomy sofa seats, and the DJ booth sits close to the guests.
Three nights to mark the opening
Ahead of the opening, a press preview and reception (both by advance reservation) take place on Wednesday, November 11, with TOMOYUKI TANAKA (FPM) as guest DJ.
Then comes “GRAND OPEN 2 DAYS.” On Friday, November 13, the theme is breakbeats, hip hop, R&B and more, with K.U.D.O. (Major Force Productions) as guest DJ. On Saturday, November 14, it is house, techno and more, with EMMA as guest DJ. Both nights run 20:00 to 3:00 the next morning, with a music charge of ¥3,000. Regular operation starts Thursday, November 19.
