Maison de Clederobe brings its first Kansai pop-up to Hankyu Umeda, Nov 18–24, with exclusive colors

In Umeda, you can meet real-leather bags that promise “affordable quality.” Maison de Clederobe, a bag brand launched in May 2026, will hold its first Kansai pop-up store at Hankyu Umeda Main Store for seven days, from Wednesday, November 18 to Tuesday, November 24.

All genuine leather, with bags from ¥30,000 to the ¥120,000 range

The brand name blends the French words “clé” (key) and “garderobe” (wardrobe). As prices of luxury brands keep rising, its concept is to offer a new option: quality within reach.

Every item uses real leather, yet bags are priced between ¥30,000 and the ¥120,000 range, and small leather goods between ¥10,000 and the ¥50,000 range. Production takes place in Italy and Japan, as well as in Vietnam and Cambodia — regions known for their sewing and leather-working skills. At the brand’s first pop-up in August, the icon bag, the Clé Tote Midi, reportedly sold out in every color early on.

Hankyu Umeda–exclusive new colors: “Light Taupe” and “Light Pink”

At this first Kansai pop-up, the brand will focus on its icon Clé series and release the elegant exclusive color “Light Taupe.” All exclusive items are limited in quantity and end when sold out.

  • Clé Tote Midi (Light Taupe): ¥99,000 (tax included). Made from shrunken-grain cowhide produced by a French tannery now approaching its 99th year. Also available in black and camel, but Light Taupe is exclusive to the pop-up
  • Rebondi Pochette (Light Pink): ¥39,600 (tax included). Light Pink is a pop-up exclusive color. A 3-way pochette that comes with a detachable bill-and-card case; remove the shoulder strap and it works as a clutch
  • Plissé Pochette Petit Special: ¥38,500 (tax included); Infinité Pochette Trois Special: ¥27,500 (tax included). Both are made with tweed from the Paris fabric maker MALHIA KENT, and each piece varies slightly

Holiday new arrivals and an original shopper

Among the new arrivals, the Italian-leather pieces stand out. The Souple Hobo Grande (dark brown or black, ¥82,500, tax included) is a soft, drapey leather bag sewn by hand by artisans in Italy, with a detachable strap. The M Boston (black or bordeaux, ¥62,700, tax included) is a smooth-leather Boston bag; the brand’s initial “M” is discreetly stitched into the handles, which are long and slim so the bag looks good even over outerwear.

During the pop-up, early buyers receive an original shopper, designed to resemble a garment bag, while supplies last (one per customer). If you are looking for a winter gift or a treat for yourself, keep this week in mind: you can see everything in one place in Umeda.
