Ride the train from Kobe all the way to Nara, collecting shrine and temple stamps along the way. From Saturday, November 7, 2026 to Wednesday, March 31, 2027, Hanshin Electric Railway and Kintetsu Railway are running a joint campaign, the “Railway Line Shrines & Temples Goshuin Rally.” Ten shrines and temples along the two lines will hand out limited-edition goshuin (stamped and calligraphed shrine and temple seals) made just for this event.
Ten shrines and temples linked by the Hanshin Namba Line
Hanshin and Kintetsu run through-service trains over the Hanshin Namba Line, so a single track connects Kobe-Sannomiya and Kintetsu-Nara. Along the way are Kasuga Taisha, Kofuku-ji, Yakushi-ji and Toshodai-ji, which are part of the UNESCO World Heritage site “Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara,” as well as many long-loved shrines and temples in Osaka, Amagasaki and Kobe.
The 10 participating sites and their nearest Hanshin or Kintetsu stations are:
- Nara: Kasuga Taisha and Kofuku-ji (Kintetsu-Nara Station); Yakushi-ji and Toshodai-ji (Nishinokyo Station)
- Osaka: Hiraoka Shrine (Hiraoka Station); Namba Yasaka Shrine (Osaka-Namba Station); Tsuyunoten Shrine, known as Ohatsu Tenjin (Osaka-Umeda Station)
- Hyogo: Kifune Shrine in Amagasaki (Amagasaki Station and Deyashiki Station); Ikuta Shrine (Kobe-Sannomiya Station); Minatogawa Shrine (Kosoku-Kobe Station)
The special goshuin are letterpress-printed with foil stamping. Each costs ¥1,000 as a shrine or temple offering, and each site has only 3,000 available. Hours and dates differ by site. Namba Yasaka Shrine will hand them out only in November–December 2026 and February–March 2027, and not in January 2027. It is worth checking each site’s notice before you go.
An original goshuin book with Hanshin’s 3000 series and Kintetsu’s “Aoniyoshi”
The original goshuin book shows Hanshin’s new 3000 series train and Kintetsu’s sightseeing limited express “Aoniyoshi,” together with flowers found along both lines. It costs ¥3,000 (tax included) and goes on sale on Saturday, November 7, 2026, with 2,000 copies in total (1,000 each from Hanshin and Kintetsu).

On the Hanshin side, it is sold at the stationmaster’s offices at Osaka-Umeda and Amagasaki stations, the Hanshin Nishinomiya Odekake Information Center, and the Hanshin Railway Service Center at Kobe-Sannomiya Station. On the Kintetsu side, it is sold at the Kintetsu-Namba and Kintetsu-Uehommachi station offices. If you set out from Umeda or Namba, you can stop by before boarding.
Station-only train stamps come with a special clear file
Station-exclusive train stamps are also on sale, with designs of each company’s trains: the 3000 series for Hanshin and “Aoniyoshi” for Kintetsu. Each costs ¥1,500 (tax included) and comes with a special clear file in a design shared by both companies. There are 3,000 of each version, sold at the same places as the goshuin book.
