A Kansai Chinese restaurant favorite is throwing itself an anniversary party. Hyakuraku, which has four restaurants in Osaka, Nara and Kyoto, turns 68 and will hold the “Hyakuraku Anniversary Festival 2026” from Tuesday, November 10 to Thursday, November 26, 2026. It runs at all four branches: Tennoji, Nara, Oji and Kintetsu Kyoto Station.
The signature “Hyakuraku Lunch” drops to ¥1,000 for three days
The highlight is a special price on the restaurant’s long-loved signature set, the “Hyakuraku Lunch.” Normally ¥1,450 (tax included), it will cost ¥1,000 (tax included) on Tuesday, November 17, Wednesday, November 18 and Thursday, November 19. At the Nara and Kyoto branches it normally costs ¥1,500 (tax included) and drops to the same ¥1,000 (tax included). November 18 is the founding day: the first restaurant opened in 1958 (Showa 33).
Three weekdays to enjoy proper Chinese food at a friendly price.
Popular dishes, bigger portions at the same price
During the festival, popular dishes will also be served in larger portions at their regular prices, in two rounds.

Round one runs from Tuesday, November 10 to Monday, November 16. It covers four dishes: the signature “Hyakuraku special spring rolls,” wrapped in a thin egg crepe, “shrimp in mayonnaise,” “sweet-and-sour pork” and “Hyakuraku mapo tofu.”

Round two runs from Friday, November 20 to Thursday, November 26. The dishes are “boneless fried young chicken,” “shrimp in chili sauce,” “stir-fried shredded beef and green pepper” and “Shinfu (Happiness) mapo tofu,” which the restaurant describes as having depth of flavor within its spiciness. Choosing what to share will be part of the fun.
Bigger drinks, a tote bag and a coupon
Drinks get a boost too. From Tuesday, November 10 to Thursday, November 26, draft beer and GINON sugar-free lemon sour are sold in larger, ice-cold “mega tumblers.”
There are also keepsakes. From Tuesday, November 17, customers who spend ¥3,000 (tax included) or more on one bill receive a tote bag with a 68th-anniversary logo — first 100 customers across all branches, while supplies last. Throughout the festival, spending ¥1,000 (tax included) or more earns a ¥100 discount coupon for a later visit.
The name “Hyakuraku” means “many happinesses, many pleasures,” taken from a line in the Chinese classic *Xunzi*. The restaurant that opened in 1958 now runs four branches across Osaka, Kyoto and Nara.
